Ache that does not cut
Eyes that will not shut
Breath that can not deep
Brain that fears to sleep
Time take not our side
Wait, abate and still collide
As one and yet apart
The past before the start
A future to unfold
as if the years--have been on hold
Excite the contemplation
Mixed fear with anticipation
Catch, hold, soften and unravel
The distance our work has to travel.
